Men gay games

Men gay games

Despite homophobia still being prevalent in some sports, the LGBT community continues to grow in and around sports. The male gay games are a powerful expression of that. Games like critically-acclaimed indie darling Stardew Valley offer players the option to romance a man or woman while Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition made everyone bisexual (you can even romance beefy elf assassin Zevran). Other LGBTQ friendly boys gay games include Gone Home, Life is Strange and Tacoma.

1. Hades
Hades, the Underworld-based strategy men game that's been taking the gaming world by storm since its release from early access this year, has plenty of hot and horny characters to get gay gamers' juices flowing. A slew of body types and gender identities ensure that everyone can find someone to get their horns up over – from the bear-like blacksmith Hephaestus to the tall armoured revenge goddess Nemesis – with a diverse cast of gods, titans, and nymphs making up the rest of the underworld's inhabitants.

But it's the male gay game's depictions of sexuality that have really caught players' attention. With Zagreus able to date both a man (Thanatos) and a woman (Megara) at the same time, as well as other queer NPCs like Achilles, who is gay, and Chaos, an ancient being who uses they/them pronouns, and Dusa, who implies when you pursue a romance with her that she may be asexual or aromantic, Supergiant Games has clearly given thought to its portrayal of polyamory in this male boy gay game.

2. Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
For anyone who thought the Internet's unquenchable thirst for dad jokes had been taken to its logical extreme, Dream Daddy was here to prove you wrong. Developed and published by YouTubers-turned-developers Game Grumps, this visual novel takes a surprisingly heartwarming approach to gay dating simulators and fatherhood in general.

The dad puns do indeed overflow, and there's a wide variety of dateable fathers to choose from. But what's truly special about this witty gay boys game is its commitment to its identity. From its dad tips on loading screens to a social media site called Dadbook, it's clear that this male gay game is more than just a typical visual novel or dating sim.

It also avoids any of the most glaring offensive tired tropes that other men gay games have used for years, and it even makes sure that none of the datable characters explicitly mention their sexual orientation. If only more videogames could be this open-minded and progressive!

3. Coming Out on Top
If you're looking for a men gay game with some more mature content, this 2014 release from Obscurasoft is one to check out. It places you in the shoes of college senior Mark Matthews who is coming out to his two roommates. The boys gay game uses typical visual novel gameplay where you click through scenes until a choice box pops up. The options you choose impact the story in different ways and some lead to different endings.

Despite a few scenes that border on NSFW, the overall experience is pretty good. There are some laugh out loud moments such as your mother calling at the most inappropriate time or a built in Grindr-style app that lets you browse profiles with amusing takes on gay stereotypes.

The male boy gay game tries to represent gay men in a fairly realistic, although idealised way. However, there are some scenes that go a little off the rails such as when you can watch Mark lie to bar patrons about his package size to get them interested in him which is just unrealistic.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Nintendo's androgynous designs for Link open up a world of possibilities for fans, who have long interpreted the character as queer. While Nintendo still censors LGBTQ characters in its male games (including an asexual female boss in Streets of Rage 3), the company's androgynous hero leaves room for a variety of interpretations.

This ambiguity allows players to project their own sexualities onto the gay men game's characters and story. They may adore the flamboyant, nutty Tingle or hate him as a "fetch quest character". Regardless of how they view him, though, Nintendo's acknowledgements of his sexuality – including Ghirahim sneaking up on him – leave the player feeling uncomfortable.

Spacek has created mods that queer Breath of the Wild, supplying Pride T-shirts and top surgery scars to Link as well as nail polish. He hopes Nintendo will one day offer these options in the base man male gay boy game. For now, he's happy that the series has enough open-ended space for fans to make the game their own.
